Bio
Victor David Sr. died peacefully May 25, 2008 at Will-O-Bell Nursing Home in Bartlett, Texas at the age of 94. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor. Celebration of Life Mass will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger with Father Joseph Nisari officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum. Victor was born June 15, 1913 to Robert and Katherine (J‡ra) David in Granger. He was a life-long farmer and rancher. Victor loved to fish, hunt, play dominoes, tarok and cook barbecue. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Viola Strmiska David, who died in March of 2001; his brothers, Louis David, Robert David, Joe David, Edward David, Tim David; and sisters-in-law. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Michna, Katie Oujesky and Annie Pokorney and their spouses. Victor is survived by his children, Pauline Kovar and husband Donald, Rita Marburger, Clarence David and wife Arlene, Carol Richter and husband Warren, and Victor David Jr and Debbie; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and brother and sisters-in-law, Dorothy David, Georgie Strmiska, Fred and Josie Strmiska. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Steven Kovar, Robert Kovar, Russell Kovar, Patrick Kovar, David Marburger, Greg David, Drew David and Justin Richter. Honorary pallbearer will be Dennis David. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church or School in Victor's memory. The family wishes to especially thank all of the staff at Will-O-Bell and Odyssey Hospice for all of their special love and care that they gave to our dad.
