Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. William Author Autrey was born to Isaac M. Autrey and Irene M. Autrey on March 11th 1931. He passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on August 18th 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife Alice Autrey, his daughter Sharon Jean McCormies and his son Randy Author Autrey. His surviving family includes his children: Deborah Ann and her husband Robert Brown, Michael Wayne Autrey, Shliea Kay and husband Michael Tabbytite, Clara and her husband Christopher Paradiso, his grandchildren: Keisha, Morris, Amber, April, Christina, John, Jennifer, Holly, Lyndsey, Cody, Danielle, and Sarah, as well as 31 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. William proudly served in the Marine corps during the Korean war and was honorably discharged in 1953. He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening. He took great care of all that the Lord entrusted to him. He faithfully provided for his family through his mattress factory that he owned and operated for over 3 decades. God called him to be a minister at a young age and he took great care of this charge by pastoring a Pentecostal House of Prayer. He loved to worship the Lord and lived his life loving Christ and serving others. Second to the love of Christ was the love for his family. He devoted 55 years to his wife Alice and this is the moment that he has been patiently waiting for, to enter into the glory of the Lord and see his loving wife again. He is dearly loved and missed. His legacy of faithfulness, stewardship and love will live on for generations to come through his family. Well done good and faithful servant. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Graveside services will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, TX. Our families would like to give a big loving thank you to his caregivers and the wonderful care they provided. Byrum Funeral Home
