EL CAMPO—David C. Johnson, 73, of Blessing, died early Thursday morning at his residence after a short illness. The body will lie in state at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo until 6 p. m. Friday, when it will be taken to St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p. m. at St. Peter's. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Peter Higgins officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, under the direction of Triska Funeral Home in El Campo. Born Dec. 23, 1917, in Clovis, N. M., to Johnnie Johnson and Nora Franklin. Mr. Johnson was a retired welder and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing. He also was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Ella Hlozek Johnson of Blessing; three daughters, Kay Longpre and Deadea Budewig, both of Houston, and Janice Walker of Plymouth, Mich.; two sons, Leo D. Johnson of Victoria and David H. Johnson of Blessing; a sister, Ruby Marr of California; three brothers, Homer Johnson of California, Tilman Johnson of Mexia and Nolin Johnson of Brady; and seven grandchildren.
