Source: Daily Ardmoreite Services for Joseph Tucker, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Craddock Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Terry Tolbert officiating. Interment will be at McMillan Cemetery. Tucker was born July 27, 1922, at Quitman, Texas, to Benjamin and Velah E. Goldsmith Tucker. He died Aug. 31, 2000, in Ardmore. He married Melba Florene Buchanan June 15, 1943, at Greenville, Texas, and was a self-employed pipeline welder before he retired. His faith was Southern Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, in 1985. Survivors include four daughters, Dorenda A. Phillips, Covington, La., Elizabeth K. Womack and Carol F. Payton, Oklahoma City, and Melba J. Gaither, Ardmore; three sisters, May Ainsworth, Snyder, Texas, Margarette Jacobs, Odessa, Texas, and Janell Nannie, Haskell, Texas. Bearers will be Shady and Donald Phillips, Clifford and Christopher Womack, David Gaither and Hardy Byrd.
