Bio
Betty Marie Kemplin, 85, of Ardmore, OK passed away on May 29, 2022 at Sunflower Park Nursing Home in Kaufman, TX. Her journey in life began in Love's Valley on March 30, 1937, the daughter of Cleta Marie (Barber) and Glenn Gardner Holt. Betty grew up and attended school in Marietta. She married the father of her five children Joel Hollar on August 7, 1955 in Gainesville, TX. They made their home in Thackerville, OK. Betty was a kind and caring woman. She lived her life around her children. When her daughters were young, she was always sewing them new dresses. Betty's first love was going to church and worshiping her Savior and God. She enjoyed growing marigolds and zinnias in her flower garden. She married her second husband, Norman Carroll Kemplin on November 29, 1986 in Gainesville, TX. They made their home in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2020. In Betty's senior years, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word find books, playing the board game Sorry, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Glenda Green, Brenda Hollar, Steven Hollar, Teresa Lawrence and son-in-love Randy Lawrence, and Shelly Hollar; brothers, Ed Holt, James Holt and wife Viola, David Holt and wife Jan, Ron Holt and wife Charlene, and Cecil Holt and wife Gale; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Carroll Kemplin; her parents, Marie and Glenn Holt; and sister, Glenda Collins. Services to celebrate Betty's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta.
