Sergeant, Co. C, 1st Regiment, Kansas Infantry Sgt James M Rogers was killed durning the Battle of Wilson Creek, on the 10th day in Aug 1861. He was among close to 1600 of the dead that was buried in mass graves after the battle. The location and names of these soldiers have not been found on records in regaurds to the buriel spots. We have found Sgt. Rogers, Military records and he now has a Memorial Stone, in the National Cemetery. His name and rank, and information is in a book in the Memorial Library on the grounds of the Battle Field of Wilson Creek Meuseum. cjHammons
