Zde odpočívá LUDVIK JOZEF WINKLER Nar. 19, Srpna 1923 Zem. 19, Ledna 1924 odpočinuti těžké dej ti o Pane A světlo Vecne at ti sviti ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ♥ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Translation: Here he is Resting LUDVIK JOZEF WINKLER Date of Birth. 19 August 1923 Date of Death. 19 January 1924 Thanks to Chasity Hines and a Czech friend of my Cousin for their help in translating Ludvik's epitaph. They write: The bottom part has a very standard Czech sentence that is used on most of the graves, much like your rest in peace. It doesn't translate well but literally it means: "Oh, Lord, let him eternally rest in peace and may the eternal light always shine upon him." It's influenced by this Catholic prayer for the dead that says exactly the same.
