Bio

Campbell resident Bill Loschen died Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Campbell with the Rev. Donald Becker officiating. Burial with military rites by Willie Fierstein American Legion Post No. 169 will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery southwest of Campbell. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Campbell Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or Willie Fierstein American Legion Post No. 169. Bill was born November 27, 1916 to Heye and Grace (Brinkman) Loschen at Macon. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from February 18, 1942 to November 25, 1945, during World War II. He married Leona O. Mattison on December 9, 1945, at Campbell. He owned and operated Loschen Machine Shop in Campbell. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Willie Fierstein American Legion Post No. 169 in Campbell, Hildreth Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6016, Nebraska Blacksmith Association, and the Campbell Chamber of Commerce. He was a former member of Campbell Rural Fire Department, Trinity Lutheran Church Board, and Campbell Village Board where he served one term as chairman. He is survived by his wife, Lee of Campbell, one son, Brent of Denver; one daughter, Connie Lentell of Crete; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George; and one sister, Christina Steinert.
