A Celebration of Life for Billy David Holmes, 87 of Palestine, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, May 16, 2022 in the Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jordan Byrd officiating. Mr. Holmes passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Trucare Living Center in Palestine. He was born August 25, 1934 in Athens, Texas to Charles Huey and Inez McDonald Holmes. Mr. Holmes was a 32nd degree with Tyre Lodge (Mason) # 198 in Tennessee Colony. He worked as a draftsman for 50 years. He also was a dairy farmer and cut and baled hay. His most treasured time of his life was with his wife and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Coffey Holmes; daughter, Toni Marie Ray; brother, Charles Holmes and granddaughter, Grace Ann Ray. He is survived by his daughters; Kenni Satterwhite & husband Luke and Conni Turner & husband Richard; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; son-in-law Rudy Ray; and very special friend Deborah Henson McClure.
