Services for J.D. "Jake" Gilbreth, 84, of Sundown will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Geo. C. Price Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glen Reece, pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Levelland, officiating. Burial will be at Sundown Cemetery under the direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors. He died Saturday, June 13, 1998, in a Lubbock hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1913, in Lone Grove, Okla. He married Estelle Wheat on Jan. 16, 1937, in Sara, Okla., where he was a member of the Methodist church. The couple moved from Cedar Lake to Sundown in 1951. He was a member of Isom Masonic Lodge No. 1242 in Borger and was the recipient of a 50-year pin. He retired in 1979 as a pumper for Amoco. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Elizabeth Palmer of Lubbock; two sons, John Dyer "Dee" Gilbreth of Wichita Falls and Nathan Craig Gilbreth of Sundown; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
