Bio

James E. Vanek, 74, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2022 in Sugar Land. He was born on April 5, 1948 in Yoakum, Texas to Edmund Frank Vanek and Sarah Guestinger Vanek. James graduated from WCJC and University of Houston. His hobbies included watching sports, especially baseball. He also enjoyed Nascar and vintage cars. This loving brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend will be missed. Survivors include his sister, Barbara Sanders; niece, Bonnye Kirk and husband, William and their children, Lucas & Lily; his special cat, Kitty; along with numerous cousins, extended family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include William Kirk, Lucas Kirk, John Kirk, Carlos Camacho, Joey Rogers and Christian.
