Bio
Carol Elizabeth Krout, age 78 formerly of Dillsburg and York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at The Woods At Cedar Run, Camp Hill. Born October 10, 1943 in St. Marys, PA, Carol was the daughter of the late Jerome and Alyce (Ritter) Kronenwetter. Carol was the retired owner of Carol's Upholstery in Dover. She was a former Girl Scout leader and a member of the York Region Chamber of Commerce. Carol enjoyed sewing, jigsaw puzzles, and loved to travel. She was always up for a trip and looked forward to her annual vacations to Myrtle Beach. Carol was also an avid shopper. For over 20 years, Carol, and her girls, would venture on an annual weekend shopping spree searching for holiday décor or just the right item for that special someone. This was an event that was very dear to Carol. Although Carol enjoyed many activities, her greatest joy was being surrounded by her large family. She was a loving wife, a dear mother, a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, LeVern Lee Krout; their six children Jean E. Witmer of Camp Hill, Alyce Minahan (Thomas Stewart) of Harrisburg, Paul J. Krout (Victoria) of Norman, OK, Scott C. Krout (Kate) of Mesa, AZ, Rick A. Krout (Toni) of Mechanicsburg and Neal R. Krout (Paula) of Wellsville; a sister Janice Anderson of Wrightsville and a brother George Kronenwetter (Vickie) of Glenside as well as 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her sister Sally Verba. A public viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 27th at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
