Sally Martha Vrba May 6, 1935 - July 28, 2017 Sally Martha (Kronenwetter) Vrba, 82, of Sugar Land, passed away at the Houston Methodist St. Catherine Hospital on Friday, July 28, 2017 of natural causes. She was born May 6, 1935 in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania to the late Jerome and Alyce (Ritter) Kronenwetter. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Daniel L. Vrba. In her younger years, Sally was a member of Sacred Heart Church, where she sang in the choir and went to Catholic School. Sally enjoyed anything athletic, including acrobatics, volleyball, tennis, and being a tom boy. She was never at a loss for friends. She graduated from Warren High School in Warren, Pennsylvania in 1953. Sally married Daniel Vrba in 1955 and moved to Texas where she lived the next 61 years, becoming a housewife and mother, leaving the athletic life behind and embracing her artistic side. She was a member of the Garden Club in the 1960's. Owner of Sally's Boutonniere Florist from 1989 to 1997, where beautiful memories were made by her love of plants and flowers. Sally was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years. She held all chapter offices and served on all committees, her favorite being the Scrapbook Committee. She created intricately beaded scrapbook covers that fellow members still cherish. Sally was a former Queen of Houston City Council and held the Order of The Rose, Silver Circle and Torchbearer Degree. These honors and many more were bestowed on Sally during 50 years in BSP. Sally and Dan enjoyed being with their sorority friends and it was a major part of their lives along with her chapter sisters She is survived by Janice Anderson, sister of Wrightsville, PA, Carol Krout, sister, her husband Lavern of York, PA, George Kronenwetter, brother, his wife Vicky of Colombia, PA; Daughters and son-in-law, Elaine Rosenwald and husband Ronnie, daughter and son-in-law of Sugar Land, TX, Cynthia Vrba, daughter of Austin, TX; Sons and daughters-in-law, Alan Vrba and wife Donna of Sugar Land, TX, Warren Vrba and wife Stacy, of Katy, TX; Grandchildren, Marissa Vrba, Kayla Vrba, Harrison Vrba, Greyson Vrba, Cole Vrba, Jessie Rosenwald, Logan Rosenwald, Great Grandchild, Peyton Bienek, Numerous nieces and nephews, friends, In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make donations to charity of choice. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 S. Kirkwood, Stafford TX 77477. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., Pastor Matt Barnhill will be officiating. Burial will take place at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
