John David Smith MINEOLA - Services for John David Smith Jr., 83, Farmers Branch, formerly of Mineola, were held 2 p.m. Saturday at Caudle- Rutledge Funeral Home chapel, Lindale, with the Rev. Joe Dennis officiating. Burial was in Lindale City Cemetery. Mr. Smith died July 20 at his residence. He was born May 19, 1917, in Robertson County and lived in Mineola, Farmersville and Allen before SMITH moving to Farmers Branch nine year ago. He was a veteran of the Army serving in the European Theatre as a medic during World War II. He retired from the Texas Highway Department and was a member of Webb chapel Baptist Church in Farmers Branch. ' Survivors include **living omitted** Pallbearers were Rick Sands, Jonny Enloe, Johnny Caplinger, Donnie Caplinger, Craig Brooks, Jerry Ganze and H. C. Brooks.
