Bio
Joyce Marlene Copeland passed away on November 22, 2014 at the age of 82 after a long illness. Joyce was born on June 30, 1932, in Concord, Texas to Elton and Ila Montgomery Baker. Joyce graduated from Centerville High School in 1949. After graduation she moved to Houston where she met and married Max Walla. They had two children born to them, Ronnie Walla and Debbie Walla Evans. Years later Joyce moved back to Concord, Texas and lived in the Leon County area most of her life until her mother passed away in 2003. She then moved to Huntsville to be close to her daughter. She lived in Huntsville at MRC Creekside where she received excellent care. She is preceded in death by her father Elton Baker, stepfather Alton Johnson, mother Ila Montgomery Johnson, and daughter in law Sandra Walla. She is survived by her son Ronnie and his wife Linda of Lake Limestone, daughter Debbie and husband Bob of Huntsville, Grandchildren Diana Wood and husband Dudley of Lake Limestone, Jennifer Walla, Max Walla, Stephanie Shaw and husband Stephen of Spring, & Jason Evans and wife Andrea of Jewett. Great grandchildren include, Brianna Beamer, Brock Beamer, Desi Dove, Gabriel Garcia, Leah Shaw, Lauren Shaw, Logan Shaw, Taylor Evans, and Tyler Evans. The family will receive friends at 10:00AM, Monday November 24, 2014 with services to begin at 11:00AM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Concord Cemetery in Concord, Texas at 3:00 PM. Memorial condolences may be made to the family on-line at
