Essie Mae Stracener Funeral services for Essie Mae Stracener will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Lone Star Baptist Church, 781 Lone Star Church Road, Sugartown, La. with Reverend John Elliott and Reverend Keary Jordan officiating. Committal service will follow in Smyrna Cole Cemetery, under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 10 a.m. until time of service, in Lone Star Baptist Church, Glenmora. Essie, 89, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Pitkin, La. She was born on December 14, 1932, to the union of John Mayo and Lola Maddox in Pitkin, La. Essie was a Baptist by faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her parents, John Mayo and Lola Maddox; her loving husband, John Lincoln Stracener; three infants; one daughter, Lola Jordan; one sister, Lessie Wilson; one brother, John Wesley Mayo; one grandson, Stanley Scott precede her in death. Those left behind to cherish her memory are six sons, Charlie Stracener, Leon Stracener, LeRoy Stracener, Chester Stracener, John Stracener, and Jerry Stracener; three daughters, Edith Faye Mancil, Claire Stracener, Linda Ruth Brown; thirty grandchildren; sixty-six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Bronson Baker, Dewayne Mancil, Scooter Scott, Johnny Mancil, Joseph Stracener, and Wilton Wisby.
