Esta Lee Hawkins McCoy Funeral Home Wednesday, January 09, 2008 Roscoe - Esta Lee Hawkins, 90, died January 6, 2008, in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Roscoe with the burial in Roscoe Cemetery. Charles McCook and Rev. Caleb Teeters will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Roscoe, Texas. Mrs. Hawkins was born on July 20, 1917, in Copeville, Texas. She married Fred H. Hawkins on Dec. 26, 1936, in Roscoe, Texas. She was a homemaker and worked for Ashland Oil Co. as a file clerk. She was a graduate of Roscoe High School. Longtime member of First Baptist Church in Roscoe and had attended the Post Chursch of Christ. She left a lifelong legacy of cooking and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred H. Hawkins Jr. on July 11, 1997, her parents Lural and Jessie Lee Dement, and 1 sister Mary Marcum. Survivors are two daughters Freda Kelley and husband Obie of Amarillo, Texas, Jean Lamb and husband Foster of Phoenix, Arizona, two sisters Mozelle Stewart of Dallas and Hazel Pearce of Midland, brother Bob Dement of Sweetwater, 4 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two sister-in-laws, Lou Wyman of McKinney, Texas, and Lavera Alexander of Big Spring.
