Walter R. Henicke, age 78, passed away January 5, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born to Ben Henicke Sr. and Minnie Kleiber Henicke in Victoria, Texas on April 15, 1929. He was retired from the City of Ft. Worth where he worked in the water department. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben Henicke Jr. and John Henicke; three sisters: Elizabeth Henicke, Mary Henicke, and Margaret Henicke. Survivors include three sons: Glenn Henicke of Arlington, Texas, James (Callie) Henicke of Arlington, Texas, and Ronnie (Jennie) Henicke of Hurst, Texas; one daughter, Elizabeth Layton of Greenville, Texas; six brothers: Frank (Rosemary) Henicke of Spring, Texas, Charles (Ann) Henicke of Caron, Texas, Gus (Marie) Henicke of Cleburne, Texas, Raymond (Glenda) Henicke of Bishop, Texas, Alfred Henicke of Oakville, Texas, Willie (Orlean) Henicke of George West, Texas; three sisters: Helen Collins of Montgomery, Texas, Dorothy (Justin) Williams of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Louise Staggs of George West, Texas; seven grandchildren. Visitation and a rosary were held Jan. 7 in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in George West, Texas. A funeral mass was recited on Jan. 8 at the St. George Catholic Church in George West, Texas. Burial followed in the St. George Catholic Cemetery in George West, Texas. Pallbearers - Chance Henicke, Glen Williams, Duane Henicke, Wesley Henicke, Andy Henicke, Frank Colle. Honorary Pallbearer - John D. Prosen.
