Bio

Louis Albert Barrilleaux, 74, of Weimar, Texas, passed away on March 27, 2022, after battling cancer for 4 years with the help of God and the hospice nurses. He died while at home holding his wife's and daughter's hands. Louis was born December 30,1947 to Archie P. Barrilleaux and Minnie (Istre) Barrilleaux in Goose Creek, Texas. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, Baytown, Texas in 1967 and attended Lee College. On June 22, 1969 he married Linda Sue Rahlwes. Although Louis worked as an instrument mechanic for 32 years for DuPont in LaPorte, Texas, he started working as a grocery sacker when he was in 2nd grade, and in high school he was a part time butcher. At DuPont, he worked on instruments and was talented in repairing anything. He was rewarded for creating a patent on an instrument. Even at home, he was always repairing things for Linda. He was a member of Weimar United Church of Christ, now Weimar United Church. Previously he was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Baytown, Texas. Louis enjoyed spending time with family, being a fun PawPaw, making friends laugh, playing games like Sparkle, cooking delicious Cajun meals like his Gumbo, traveling, hunting, fishing, woodworking, farming and taking care of his cows. He loved animals and was great at training them. He really enjoyed socializing, especially playing Pinochle with his Pinochle family, playing dominoes or just visiting with the breakfast group at the bakery. Through the years, Louis and Linda traveled on cruises to Alaska, Canada and Mexico. They went on numerous RV trips to Colorado & Louisiana. Later came a 30 day trip to Canada. In 2019, he was able to take his bucket list trip to Florida with his family. Louis is survived by his wife Linda Barrilleaux of Weimar, Texas; daughter Lisa Baumbach and her husband, Kenny of Spring, Texas; grandchildren Collin Taylor and Caden Taylor; step-grandchild, Kurt Baumbach; brothers Archie Barrilleaux and wife Jane; Melvin Barrilleaux and wife Donna; sister in law, Judy Barrilleaux and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Archie P. Barrilleaux and Minnie Barrilleaux; brother Lionel Barrilleaux.
