Transcription of Obituary from The Bryan Daily Eagle, Monday 16 Sept. 1929 Funeral Service At Steep Hollow For Ex-Resident Funeral services were held at Steep Hollow cemetery Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock for Commodore E. Bullock, son of J. E. Bullock of that community, whose death occurred at Austin, Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. aftrer a lingering illness. The body was shipped from Austin to Bryan, accompanied by a brother of the deceased, Tolbert Bullock of Marlin who had been at the bedside for the past week, and Mr. and Mrs. Berry Risinger of Steep Hollow, who were called to Austin Saturday. Interment was made in the family lot at Steep Hollow church cemetery, under the direction of McCulloch-Dansby funeral directors of Bryan. The services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Pipkin of Bryan, assisted by Rev. Charley E. Bullock of Hearne and Rev. Roy S. Hollomon of Bryan. Pall bearers were; W. S. Barron, John Hicks, Jess Conlee, Winifred Carroll, John Vance and Robert Jones. Deceased is survived by his aged father, J. E. Bullock of Steep Hollow; two sisters and four brothers; Tolbert Bullock, Marlin; Walter Bullock, of Steep Hollow; Mrs. Berry Risinger, Steep Hollow; Mrs. Brooks Beal, Bryan; Elmer and Amzie Bullock, Steep Hollow. Commodore Elbert Bullock was one of the Brazos county boys who enlisted in the service for the World war and served during the entire period of the war as Fireman First Class, United States Navy, on board the U. S. S. S. Buffalo. He became disabled while in the Navy.
