Bio

"Bill" Hammond, 71, of Centennial, CO, died suddenly on March 31, 2007. Born May 13, 1935 in Torrington, WY. He graduated from high school in Dix, NE and got his college degree at Kearney State Teachers' College, Kearney, NE. Post-graduate training in Physical Therapy was completed at Univ. of Iowa. He later received his Masters' degree at Emory Univ., Atlanta, GA. He married Karen Martin on Sept. 24, 1960, in Hyannis, NE. Bill served as a Physical Therapist in the U.S. Army for 30 years and retired at the rank of Colonel, Nov 1, 1989. He continued to work in physical therapy following retirement. Survived by wife, Karen; children, Steven (Bronwyn) of Billings, MT, Susan (Rick) Blomgren of Parker, CO, and Scott of Littleton; four grandsons, Chris and Jonathan Blomgren, Will and Graham Hammond; and three grand- daughters, Elise Blomgren, Kaitlyn and Molly Hammond. He is also survived by four brothers and one sister. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Visitation, Thursday, April 5th from 3-8 p.m. with a Funeral Service on Friday, April 6th at 10:30 a.m., both at Drinkwine Family Mortuary. Interment will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
