Funeral Services for Mack Everett Mahoney Jr., age 74, of Tyler, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Frances Spiers will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, in Fannin County, Texas. Mack passed away Monday evening, December 20, 2021, at his residence in Tyler, Texas. Mack was born on July 14, 1947, in Houston, Texas, the son of Mack Everett Mahoney Sr. and Vera Faye Williams Mahoney Moore. He joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1970. Mack was a proud patriot; he loved his county. He was a successful businessman. One of his passions was the non-profit organization, Jessica's Hope Chest, which he and Nita created. Mack will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Roy David Moore; and infant son, Anthony Wilson Mahoney. Mack leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Nita Mahoney of Tyler, Texas; daughters, Tina Ann Mahoney Velis and husband Tommy of Windom, Texas and Kelley Rena Mahoney Harvey of McKinney, Texas; half-brothers, Jack David Moore, Billy Kenneth Moore, Roger Everett Mahoney, and Curtis Lynn Mahoney; sister, Willie Mae Goodwin; half-sister, Darla Kay Mahoney; grandchildren, Sam David Velis, John Thomas Velis, Alexandria Marie Harvey Pierce, and Karina Michelle Harvey; great grandchildren, Hadli Velis-Hevron, and Lara Marie Piece; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Willie T Reese, Jr., Phillip Weathers, Jason Weathers, Billy Williams, Bo Jenkins, and Marvin D. Williams, Jr. The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2021.
