Bio

Enoch Jefferson Ray, fondly known as "E.J.", 85, of Missouri City, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2022. He was born on December 14, 1936 in El Paso, Texas to Jessie George Ray and Ioan Pauline (Stegall) Ray. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. E.J. worked for Shell Oil for over 35 years before his retirement. When he wasn't tinkering around the house, E.J.'s hobbies included tending to his garden, enjoying a cup of black coffee with friends at the local donut shop, going out to eat good Mexican food, and listening to old country and Elvis music. This loving father, grandpa, and friend will truly be missed. In addition to his parents, E.J. is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margueritte "Margie" (Motl) Ray. Survivors include his daughter, Robin Ray Ebeling and her husband, Joe, and their children, Alan and Marilyn Ebeling; his son, Melvin Allen Ray; along with extended family and friends. A service celebrating E.J.'s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment will take place in the Columbarium at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg, where E.J. will once again be reunited with his beloved Margie.
