Bio
Jeff Tarpley was born January 29, 1932 in the Rand Community to Thomas Jefferson Tarpley and Mamie Iva Glenn Tarpley. He was the youngest of eight siblings. He married Margie Sue Elston on October 28, 1950. They were married almost 70 years until his death. They were blessed with three children, Kathie, Sherron and Tommy. At the age of 17, Jeff started working at James Tool Company in Dallas, Texas. In 1980, after working there for 31 years, he decided to retire. The owner of the company told Jeff he would give him his tool company if he purchased all the equipment, which Jeff did. He built a shop on his land and opened Tarpley Bit and Machine Shop which is still being run by his son Tommy. Jeff enjoyed riding horses, fishing, checking his cattle, playing cards and watching westerns, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
