Bio
Erna (Rudolph) Ellingson, 85, of Edgeley, ND passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Manor St. Joseph in Edgeley. Erna was born on July 11, 1926 at Venturia, ND to John and Magdalena (Schlepp) Rudolph. She moved with her parents and 3 sisters to rural Edgeley in 1934, and attended country schools in Pomona View Township until seventh grade when she entered Edgeley Elementary. She graduated from Edgeley High School in 1944. Erna married Harold Ellingson in 1945. They had 4 children who all graduated from Edgeley High School. She worked with Ellingson Auction Service as clerk/cashier until her stoke in 1997. Harold and Erna enjoyed 10 winters in Mesa, AZ from 1989-1998. Erna was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and was very active in the choir, United Methodist Women, and Sunday School. Her hobbies included painting intricate china plates, singing with the group "The Edge-Aires", and sewing many items for her family. She entered Manor St. Joseph in Edgeley on October 1, 1999. She enjoyed her home there and received excellent care. Erna will be remembered for her loving spirit. Her face lit up as she greeted people with a beautiful smile and a squeeze of her hand. She especially loved her family and spending time with them. She had a way of making each person feel special. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley.
