Lorine (Rudolph) Scott grew up on a farm in eastern North Dakota near Edgeley. Lorine was born on December 23, 1929, the 3rd daughter of 4 children born to John (JP) and Magdalena (Schlepp) Rudolph. She attended elementary and high school in Edgeley, ND and assisted with the family farm duties and later would attend Hairstylist school. On February 1, 1953, she married Arnold Scott of Merricourt in Edgeley, ND. The couple moved to Ellendale and started a family (daughter Sharon and son Jerry). In 1964, they moved to the western side of North Dakota, living in Reeder and added two more daughters to the family (Elaine and Julie). While in Reeder, Lorine opened up "Lorine's Beauty Shop" for a short time before choosing to close shop and focus on raising her children. Lorine and Arnold would later move to Hettinger in 1992 to spend their golden years together, Arnold passing in 2018. Lorine loved to garden, sew, knit, and enjoyed the family camping and vacationing trips. She really enjoyed music, especially country songs, hymns and polkas. She was a well renowned cook in the family kitchen. Although a very short in stature woman, she possessed a very larger than life attitude with the most lovable laugh. Lorine passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the West River Regional Medical Center. Preceding Lorine in death were her parents, John and Magdalena Rudolph; her husband, Arnold Scott; two sisters, Martha Jolin, and Erna Ellingson.
