Married: May 6, 2005, to Karolyn Bitter-Mason in Kearney. Survivors include his wife; sons, Jerry of Kearney and James of Broken Bow; daughter, Rebecca Smith of Louisville, Neb.; brothers, Dan of Broken Bow, Wesley of Hershey, Neb., and Daryl of North Platte, Neb.; sisters, Audrey Jones of Thedford, Neb., Ardis Goodner of Broken Bow, Cleo Purdum of Reedpoint, Mont., Beverly Goehring of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Leata Krejci of Eustis, Neb.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; stepsons, Brian Bitter and Bruce Bitter, both of Hoisington, Brent Bitter of Holyrood, Scott Lindstrom and Jim Lindstrom, both of Columbus, Neb., and Doug Lindstrom; stepdaughters, Brenda Bitter of Victoria and Susan Sall of Iowa City, Iowa; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
