Elizabeth Lou "Betty" Hass February 28, 1938 ~ February 2, 2022 Elizabeth L. "Betty" Hass, 83, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at United Living Community in Brookings, SD. A visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, IA. A memorial service will be 10:00 am Friday, February 11, 2022, at Christy-Smith, Morningside, with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Betty Peterson, the daughter of Gustof and Kathryn (Krogman) Peterson was born February 28, 1938, in Mitchell, SD. She attended school in White River, SD. On November 10, 1974, Betty was united in marriage with David Warren Hass in Pierre, SD. She was primarily a homemaker, but also washed dishes in the family-owned restaurant. David died August 19, 1998. Betty was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church (formerly Morningside Presbyterian), was in the Bell Choir, and enjoyed tap dancing and line dancing. Betty is survived by her children, Craig Dixon of Anchorage, AK, Scott Dixon of Pierre, SD, Ember (Rex) Bachman of Minot, ND; a stepdaughter, Danyel (Paul) Craft of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; brother, Frank O'Brien; and sisters, Mildred Peterson and Ellen O'Brien Hutchison. [Source: Christy-Smith Funeral Homes in Sioux City, Iowa]
