DOUG IMHOFF With heavy hearts we tell you of the death of Douglas Clark Imhoff. On Saturday evening, January 15, 2022, Doug peacefully passed away at home after fighting a courageous battle against Pulmonary Fibrosis. Doug was born March 11, 1941, in Alhambra, CA to Clark and Lorraine Imhoff. He and his family moved from San Gabriel, CA to Chico in 1961. He worked as a General Building Contractor his entire career, working first with his dad, and then starting his own construction company, Imhoff Construction. He built many commercial buildings and residential homes throughout Butte County. Doug, a Navy veteran, served on the USS Saint Paul, a heavy cruiser, during 2 tours of Vietnam. He returned from active duty to attend Chico State where he met his wife, Joan. Doug was loved by so many for his kindness, humor, storytelling, and generous heart. He was always the first to offer help because he knew how to build and fix anything. He enjoyed countless hunting and fishing trips with his son, brothers, cousins, and nephews. Doug is a past member of Elks, SIR, Renegades, Friday morning breakfast guys, and Janie Smith's poker family. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Joan; daughter Sarah Billeter (Brian); granddaughters, Ella and Abigail, both so dear to him; brother Ron Imhoff (Barbara), sister Christine Mickelson (Steve) and many close cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased are his parents, his brother Darrall, and his beloved son, Danny. We are honoring his request of no memorial service.
