Bio
Harold G. Mason, age 88, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his home in West Peoria. He was born to the late Harold and Mary (Gaylord) Mason on October 30, 1933 in Peoria. He married Jeanette Turner on April 3, 1959 in Lewiston, IL, and she preceded him in death in 2011. He was also preceded in death by his step-daughter-in-law, Laura Dohm, and step-granddaughter, Shirley J. McGrane. Harold is survived by his step-son, LeRoy Dohm of Peoria, sister, Shirley Bieneman of Washington, his close friend and neighbor, Larry Donald (Nicole) of West Peoria. Harold served in the United States Navy from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1962. After his discharge, he became a member of the Laborers Union 165 and worked in construction. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War #2078, the Navy Club, and the Eagles Club #265. Burial with military honors will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
