Evelyn Allbright, 88, of Rockland passed away January 9, 2022. She was born January 9, 1934, in Corrigan, Texas to John C. Courtney and Florence Mantooth Courtney. She was a member of Rockland Baptist Church. She is survived by niece, Betty Tompkins of Rockland; nephew, Roy Tompkins of Rockland; niece, Donna Sue Dickens of Rockland; sister-in-law, Doris Courtney of Splendora; Numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Evelyn is preceded by her mother, Florence Courtney; father, John C. Courtney; brother, Delbert Courtney; sister, Diamond Wilson; brother-in-Law, Elroy Wilson; sister, Odessa Henderson; brother-in-Law, J. R. Henderson and brother, J. T. Courtney. Pallbearers will be Elton Wilson, Delbert Wayne Courtney, Danny Bridges, Jason Beauchamp, Daniel McHenry and Patrick Dickens. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022, 2:00 pm at Riley Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 pm until 2 pm at Riley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery in Corrigan.
