Bio
Vincent James Smola, 58, died December 24, 2021. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, OK. Interment will follow at Fairlawn cemetery in Stillwater. Vincent was born in Poteau, Oklahoma on July 13, 1963 to Norman and Jane Smola. He graduated from Stillwater High School and went on to graduate with an AS degree from OSU-Okmulgee. In 1986 he married the love of his life Stephanie Shipley. Vince had a magical touch with all things mechanical. He was working in the oilfield as a crane mechanic/operator/inspector when forced to retire due to health issues. Being in nature, preferably fishing, was where he was the happiest. Fly fishing in the mountains in New Mexico and Wyoming were his favorite. Vince would want his family and friends to know he loved you very much. Vince was preceded in death by his brother, Paul. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his parents, Norman and Jane; brothers Doug, Piedmont; Don (Lucinda), Allen, TX and Ed (Suzy), Grapevine, TX; five nephews and three nieces.
