Bio

Othmer John Berg, 77, died unexpectedly Monday evening of an apparent heart attack. He was born October 6, 1887 at Cornlea, NE, one of a family of nine children. He moved to Shaw, OR with his parents in 1906 and then to Lebanon in March, 1927. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. He married Annie E. Tate, member of a pioneer Oregon family on February 4, 1913. She preceded him in death in 1963. One son, Elgie Berg, died, in action, while serving as seargant with the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944. Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis Wald; one brother, Guido Berg; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Bonfield and Mrs. Mamie Amort and numerous nieces and nephews.
