Last Rites Conducted For Mrs. Roberts Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 12, in the First Baptist Church at Mobeetie for Dara [sic] Ann Roberts, who passed away, August 9 at 12:15 a.m. in Amarillo. Rev. Gene Grace, pastor, assisted by Rev. Bruce Matthews of the First Methodist Church, officiated. Dara [sic] Ann Roberts was born at Fayettesville, Tennessee June 16, 1863 and at the time of her death was 95 years, 1 month and 23 days of age. She was married to Wiley Roberts at Weatherford, September 20, 1882, and they came to the Mobeetie community in 1916 from Oklahoma. They resided on a farm up to the time of their retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mobeetie. Survivors are the children: J.R. Roberts of Golden, Colo.; Lizzie Roberts of Leedey, Okla.; Mrs. Ich West of Portales, N.M.; Lee Roberts of Pampa; Tom Roberts of Compton, Calif.; and Oscar Roberts of Mobeetie. Also she is survived by 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Her husband, two sons and two daughters proceeded her in death. Pall bearers were: G.C. Wright, Bob Leonard, Silas Hooker, Woodford Williams, Jess Patterson, and Jess Godwin all of Mobeetie. Interment was in the Mobeetie Cemetery beside her husband who passed away October 22, 1940. Kirk Funeral Home of Wheeler was in charge.
