Bio

Born Marion Elizabeth Noe on Nov. 25, 1927 at California Hospital, Marion Rayor was a lifelong Southern California resident who passed away Aug. 27, 2005 at her home in Santa Monica after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Marion is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Franklin; her sisters Patricia (Dr. Thomas) Mulkey and Jacqueline McAlister; her brother Chester (Susanna) Noe; her children Cheryl (Jay) Eiser, Cathryn Boyd, Frederick (Randa) Rayor and Robert Rayor; her grandchildren Andrew Eiser, Justin Eiser, Marcus Boyd, Beth Eiser, Eric Boyd, Rebecca (Christopher) Evans, Adam Boyd, Richard Rayor and Leslie Boyd; and her great-grandson Dillon Evans. Marion spent her life as a homemaker and volunteer, generously donating time for 30 years to the Centinela Valley Hospital Auxiliary in addition to her involvement with the PTA, Girl Scouts and Little League. Franklin and Marion have been season-ticket-holding fixtures behind the Los Angeles Lakers' bench since shortly after the team's move from Minneapolis in 1960, and Marion engaged in several other hobbies including music and piano, travel and aerobics. Her true talent, though, lay in the warm, gentle spirit which earned Marion the love and respect of everyone with whom she came in contact. She will be sorely missed by all. A service will be held Tuesday Noon at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary, 6001 Centinela Ave., Los Angeles, CA (310) 641-0707. Donations in Marion's memory may be made to City of Hope or a charity of one's choosing. Published by Los Angeles Times from Aug. 28 to Aug. 30, 2005.
