Published in the Athens Review June 5, 1947 Funeral services for George L. Bristow, 72, of route 3, Palestine, who died in a Dallas hospital, were held Friday morning at 11 o'clock in the Liberty Cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev. Roy Hendricks. Surviving are his wife; five sons, J.C. Bristow of Corsicana, B.W. Bristow of Texas City, R.L. Bristow of Pearland, J.F. Bristow of Palestine and Ira Bristow of Athens; four daughters, Mrs. May Quick of Palestine, Mrs. Berta Fitzgerald of Palestine, Mrs. Ethel Coleman of Manvel, and Mrs. Annie Malone of Tyler; and one sister, Mrs. Fanny Rainey of Fort Worth.
