Bio
Mrs. Bertha E. Hailey was born in the old 2nd ward of Houston, daughter of Fred and Caroline Ewald, being the 7th daughter of 11 children born to them. Member of Central Congregation Church. Retired from Texaco. Preceded in death by her husband, John L. Hailey. Survivors: Sisters, Mrs. Anna E. Barnett of Houston, Mrs. Pauline E. Franke of Austin and Mrs. Ruth E. Timme of Houston; 11 nieces and nephews. Funeral services December 30, 1985 at Forest Park Lawndale Chapel, Dr. Richard Campbell officiating. Interment: Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Pallbearers: C. Fred Tofte, Norman Tofte, A. C. Timme, Jr., Jim A. Barnett, Jr., Ben Young and Robert Patschke.
