VJ Willis January 9, 1949-November 28, 2021 Funeral services for VJ Willis will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021, in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Reverend Tony Robinson and Reverend Tim Thompson officiating. Committal service will follow in the Occupy #1 Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., then on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. VJ, 72, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 28, 2021, in his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born January 9, 1949, in Pineville to Cranford Willis and Annie Mae Thompson Willis. VJ was a log truck driver until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cranford and Annie Mae Willis; one brother, Cranford Willis Jr.; one sister, Debra Ann Willis. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 28 years, June Marie Willis of Oakdale; two sons, Joseph A. (Janet) Giroir III and Thomas A. Ivy all of Oakdale; two daughters, Amanda Willis and Casey Jean Dennsison both of Oakdale; four sisters, Evelyn Willis (Wilfred) McCallon of Oakdale, Rose Willis Martin of Many, Charleen Willis Martin of Pitkin, and Cheryl Willis (Norman) Nolen of Sugartown; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Joseph Giroir III, Amanda Willis, Bobby Baker, Chris Dennsison, James Hodge, and Paul Laire. Honorary pallbearer to serve will be Bubba McCallon.
