Bio
Evelyn Frances Ripper, age 88 years, 11 months, 24 days, passed away at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 at 5 a.m. Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Visitation began 9 a.m., with rosary led by Peggy Kalich at 10 a.m. The funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Isaac Maunger officiated and interment took place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Alfred Ripper Jr., Marty Ripper, Larry Ripper, Kenneth Ripper, Michael Trojacek, Lad Trojacek, Eddie Joe Ripper and Greg Ripper, all nephews; and Dustin Herzik and Justin Rosenauer, great-nephews-in-law. Born on Dec. 24, 1932, she was the daughter of Anton and Sophie (Oeltjendiers) Ripper. A lifelong resident of the Fayette County area, she worked at Winn's for many years and owned/operated Ripper's Garden Center. She loved plants and sewing. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Survivors include one brother, Charlie Ripper of La Grange; one sisterin-law, Annie Mae Ripper of Schulenburg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Dorothy Ripper, Olga Trojacek and Susie Ripper; and six brothers, Alfred Ripper, Martin Ripper, Bennie Ripper, Toney Ripper, Erwin Ripper and Walter Ripper.
