Texarkana Gazette (TX) - Thursday, November 17, 2005 Sammy Neil Rankin, 59, of Key West, Fla., died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, in Key West. Mr. Rankin was born Aug. 23, 1946, in Cass County, Texas. He was a construction engineer, a member of the United States Sailboat Racing Team and a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Rankin of Key West; his mother, Audrey Rankin of Atlanta, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, J. Paul and Cheryl Rankin of White Oak, N.C.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Linda Lindsay of Rowlett, Texas, and the Rev. Jill and Ken Daniel of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, Atlanta, with the Rev. John Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Shelton-Rankin Cemetery, Cass County, Texas.
