Houser, Jr., age 93 of Leonard, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 1999, in the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard with Charles Wrenn officiating. Burial will be in the Valley Creek Cemetery. Mr. Houser died Monday in the Northeast Medical Center in Bonham. He was born February 17, 1906, in Shiner, Texas, the son of John J. Houser, Sr. and Mary Pustnajy Houser. He married Julia Inez Minton on Sepember 15, 1937, In Ennis, Texas. She died November 23, 1982. He was a Catholic and was retired from Slaughter Lumber Company and retired from farming. He is survived by daughter, Bobbie Long of Leonard; son, Johnny "Cotton" Houser of Leonard; sisters, Bertha Hutchins of Farmers Branch, Mary Robinson of Carrollton, and Delfia Cotton of Carrollton; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Taylor Funeral Home of Leonard had charge of the arrangements.
