Bio

Old Grantville Cemetery is around the corner from Grantville Cemetery. Barnet Magee Hastings was the son of Elijah Hastings,Jr and grandson of Elijah Hastings Sr., from Sussex Co, Deleware. He married Elizabeth Hull, daughter of Platt Hull and Susanna Sollers, in Pickaway Co, Oh 6 Sep 1829. They moved to Moultrie Co, Il Bef 1850. Then to Kansas to live with his son Elias just before they died. Barney was in the Civil War from Illinois. He wasn't in very long because of illness. Children are Platt, William, Asariah, Mary, Elias, Susanna, Harriet, Sarah, Louisa Diantha Asariah died in the Civil War of sickness and Barney had his children for awhile. His name Barnet Magee Hastings is found on his marriage in Pickaway County Ohio 6 Sep 1829. He is also called Barnet in the 1840 Census of Pickaway Co, Oh.
