David Malek, 43 COLLINS — Services for David Malek, Collins, will be at a later date in Olathe, Kansas. Mr. Malek died at 1:52 a.m. Saturday in Cox Medical Center South of natural causes. Local arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield. —From The Springfield News-Leader; Sunday, August 21, 1988 ∼ David E. Malek, 43, Collins, Missouri, formerly of Olathe, died August 20, 1988, at a hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born in Spokane, Washington, and lived in Olathe before he moved to Collins three months ago. Mr. Malek was a truck driver for P.A.M. Transport, Tontitown, Arkansas, for eight months. Earlier he was a senior maintenance worker for the city of Olathe for five years. Survivors include his wife, Pam K. Malek, a son, Travis L. Malek, and a daughter, Jeri L. Malek, all of the home; his father, Peter J. Malek, Deer Park, Washington; his stepfather and mother, Ronan and Viola Lane, Medford, Oregon; a brother, Stan P. Lane, Tulare, California; four half-brothers, Ron Lane, Springfield, Oregon, Kevin Lane and Mark Lane of Oakridge, Oregon, and Dan Lane, Medford; and a sister, Geri Miller, Springfield, Oregon. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Frye Chapel, Olathe. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. —From The Kansas City Times; Monday, August 22, 1988
