Bio
James M. "Bob" Scott, 76, of McComb, died Oct. 28, 2006, at Beacham Memorial Hospital. Visitation was 1 p.m. Monday at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb until services there at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Vann Windom and Dr. David A. Millican officiated. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery. Mr. Scott was born Aug. 16, 1930, in McComb, to Levi and Bessie Magee Scott. He was a retired self-employed businessman. He was a member of West McComb Baptist Church in McComb. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maureen Boutwell Scott; a son, Roger Scott; and a brother, Carl Scott. Survivors include a special friend, Donnis Rhodes of McComb; three sons, Gary Scott of Houston, Texas, Danny Scott of McComb and Robert Scott of Iowa; two daughters, Peggy Mitchell of McComb and Ginger Scott of North Carolina; a brother, Jimmy C. Scott of Dallas; three sisters, Idell Jackson of Louisville, Ky., Doris Burris of Smithdale and Christine Quin of McComb; a sister-in-law, Mary Bell Scott of Crowley, La.; special friends, Ralph and Jean Gatlin of McComb, Steve and Brenda McComb of Waveland, David and Marguerite Westbrook of Jackson and Inez Nix of Community Hospices of America; 11 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Pallbearers were Judge Mike Smith, David Westbrook, Steve McComb, Mickey Hancock, Steve Quin and Kenneth Dixon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in the memory of Mr. James M. "Bob" Scott to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
