Bio

Vonnie left this life to be with her Heavenly Father on September 28, 2021. Service: 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Ash Creek Cemetery. Vonnie was born to Claude Wright and Fay (Tucker) Wright on January 17, 1927. Her mother died several months later. Vonnie grew up on the Wright farm and attended Azle schools. She married Marshall Holmes on September 29, 1945, after his return from WWII. Throughout the years, she always helped her husband. They were married for 68 years when Marshall died in 2013. They will be remembered for their work at Azle Christian Church, Azle Coin-O-Mat laundry, Azle Opry musical, and the Ash Creek Cemetery Association. Vonnie took pride in her family and home, cooking, and her plants. She also enjoyed reading and country music. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Wilson and Marsha Taylor; granddaughter Kerri (Taylor) and her husband Matt Walter, and their three children — Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Liam; great-grandson Tristan Clemson; and a brother, Harold Ray Wright and his wife Dot; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
