Bio

Wesley Eugene Lawson was raised at Linwood, Kansas, until the age of 16 when he moved with his parents in 1904 to the Stony Point community southwest of Vinland. As a young man, he farmed with his father and brother. He was described as "a very cheerful person, with a good sense of humor, witty, liked to joke and was a lot of fun to be with." Wes married a neighbor, Crilla Belle McQueen. Wes and Crilla farmed in the Stony Point community, and became the parents of three sons. Wes became sick while in his early 30s. He died in a hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 35. His youngest son was not yet one year old.
