Bio
Owen was born February 28, 1935 to Walter and Anna Hakanson in Harvey, ND. He attended the Arne School and graduated from the Benson County Agricultural & Training School (BCATS) in Maddock. Owen married Elaine Olstad on September 3, 1955 in Heimdal, ND. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Connie and Diane. In 1966, the family moved from Fessenden, ND to Renton, WA where Owen worked for Boeing for several years. In 2000, he retired from a long career in real estate and they moved to Mesa, AZ. Owen's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and genuine love of all the people he met. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lorace, and brother-in-law, Alden Pederson. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 24, 2021, 11am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2745 N. 32nd St in Mesa. Friends and Family are invited to attend the service.
