Bio
Mary Ruth Dickerman Yowell, 89, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, in Fort Worth. Ruth, or "Mamaw" as everyone called her, was born in Sherman to Lucius L. and Josephine McCoy Dickerman. She attended school in Sherman, where she met and married her sweetheart, Robert C. Yowell. Three sons completed their family there before moving to Fort Worth in 1948. Ruth enjoyed working in churches as an administrative assistant. She served in the Park Temple Baptist Church and later in Southcliff Baptist Church. It could be said about her that, "She was more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can be compared to her." Proverbs 3:1. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband in August of 2000. The family wishes to express special thanks to Jennifer Yowell, a special granddaughter, who unselfishly nursed and cared for her in her last months of life. Survivors: Sons, Jerry W. Yowell and wife, Sue, Gary L. Yowell and wife, Kim, Mickey Yowell and wife, Cindy; sister, Bernetta Wilder and husband, Sherman, of Sherman; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
