The Spalding Enterprise (Spalding, Nebraska) 17 Feb 1949, Thu Page 1 Mrs. John Justus Passed Away Mrs. John Justus of Spalding passed away at 1:10 Tuesday morning, Feb. 8 in an Omaha hospital. Myrtle Erma Carr was born to Jasper and Louis Carr November 11, 1891 in Fremont County near Bartlett, Iowa. At the age of seventeen she came to Nebraska with her father and brother. The following year she and John Justus were married and moved to the farm north of Spalding where they resided until a short time before her death. To this union were born four daughters, Millie, Mary, Violet and Margaret. Mrs. Justus became ill several months ago and was taken to an Omaha hospital where she passed away at 1:10 Tuesday morning, Feb. 8 at the age of 57 years. Her father, mother and one brother preceded her in death. She has left to mourn her death, her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Millie Clark of LaGrande, Ore.; (Mary) Mrs. Albert Field of Spalding; (Violet) Mrs. Alva Youngs of Kennewick, Wash. and (Margaret) Mrs. Earl Lingel of Loretto, Neb.; one brother, Charles Carr of Spalding; one sister, Mrs. Charles Michelson of Mounty Ayr, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian church. Burial was at the Fairview cemetery.
