The Boone Companion (Albion, Nebraska) 15 May 1962, Tue Page 8 John Justus Was Long-Time Resident of St. Edward ST. EDWARD - John Justus , son of Ludwig and Mary Sellars Justus, was born in Carroll County, Ill., April 17, 1877, and died at Boone county hospital in Albion on May 5, 1962 at the age of 85. When he was very young the family moved to St. Edward and when Mr. Justus grew to manhood he spent many years on a household in Wheeler county 12 miles northeast of Spalding. Dec. 23, 1910 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Erma Carr, and to this union 4 daughters were born: Mrs. Millie Clark of Helix, Ore.; Mrs. Albert Field (Mary) of Omaha; Mrs. Alva Youngs (Violet) of Kennewick, Wash.; and Mrs. Earl Lingel (Margaret) of Albion. His wife preceded him in death. He leaves 4 daughters and their husbands; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Kate Bennett, Cora Potter, and Annie Newton all of St. Edward; and a brother, Louis, also of St. Edward. After his wife's death in 1949 Mr. Justus retired and moved to Spalding residing there until he went to the Thompson Convalescent Home in St. Edward Oct. 18, 1959. Funeral services were at Presbyterian church in Spalding Tuesday. Interment was in Grand View cemetery at Spalding.
